Phoebe M (U4) will be joining the London Children’s Ballet (LCB) on tour next month after successfully auditioning for the famous institution. She performed alongside 500 children vying for one of the 48 spaces on the touring companies roster for performances between 22-26 February.
Phoebe, who took up ballet aged 5, will be performing in ‘Anne of Green Gables’. She says on her achievement: “I’m very excited about it. It’s a really good opportunity for everyone, really – the people we’ll be performing to as well as all the dancers. And it will give me a chance to develop my performance skills.”
The LCB Touring Company was formed to bring LCB performances to those physically unable to attend the West End. As well as performing at care homes and hospices they try and visit as many SEN schools as possible providing intergenerational experiences for both performers and attendees.
Headmistress at St Swithun’s Ms Jane Gandee said: “Pupils and staff at the school are extremely proud of Phoebe’s achievement. Mastery of any activity takes practice and perseverance – Phoebe’s success reflects her commitment and her positive approach”.
